An unprecedented accomplishment for the Yukon’s beloved distillery

WHITEHORSE, YUKON (January 22nd, 2020) – Two Brewers Single Malt Whisky has won a remarkable nine medals at the tenth annual Canadian Whisky Awards. Held each January at the Hotel Grand Pacific in Victoria, BC, as part of the Victoria Whisky Festival, the Canadian Whisky Awards recognize the very best whiskies produced in Canada.

Two Brewers expressions are broadly grouped into four categories of single malt whiskies: Classic, Peated, Special Finish, and Innovative. This year, Two Brewers medaled with all seven submissions (Releases 12 though Release 18). Classic Release numbers 13, 16, and 18 won GOLD, as did Release 12, a peated expression. Three SILVER medals were won for Innovative Release 14 and Release 17 as well as for Release 15 a special sherry barrel finished whisky.

In addition to the medals, the small-batch distillery also took home the award for “Best Canadian Single Malt Whisky” for Release 12. This is the second year in a row that Two Brewers have taken home this prestigious award, in 2019 this award was given to Two Brewers for Release 09. Release 12 truly made its mark this year, as it also won the top spot in the “Sippin’ Whisky of the Year” category. Accolades of this magnitude bring owners Bob Baxter and Alan Hansen a great deal of pride.  Recognition on the national stage alongside many other long standing and accomplished producers, has plenty to say about the future of Two Brewers.

“Awards such as these allow us to climb one more rung up the ladder to becoming known on the whisky landscape in Canada. That is a critical component to any future growth, and it is rewarding to see.” says owner, Bob Baxter.

Two Brewers whisky is currently available for sale in the Yukon, British Columbia, Alberta & Quebec with sights set on Ontario in the near future.
